To start off, I went to Tokyo Disneyland for the first time in 3 years! I also rode their latest Beauty and the Beast attraction and it was so awesome!! The 🏰 there was also beautiful!!
And I saw this cute vending machine based on a Disney character called Baymax! Any Disneyland lovers here?

@Klaus Oh no no no, a lot has changed and the Fast pass system doesn’t exist anymore 😂
so you have to wait at any attractions when you wanna ride one! There is an alternative tho; it’s called DPA (Disney Premium Pass). You have to pay ¥2000 when you don’t wanna wait on a famous attraction there.

There’s a really famous bakery in my city called “Nik Baker’s” and they have this drink called “cake-shake” and it’s literally a milkshake with cake in it lol. So delicious!!! I miss it so much😭😭

@Rashi Likewise here. I wished it has that kind of cake texture to it. Last time I tried the Tiramisu Frappuccino and that absolutely had the texture of cake 🍰.

my friend and I went to the expo as well and tried this amongst other things! I forgot the name but it was a kind of jelly with coconut, caramel and mango - soooo good!! 🥰

(we actually ran into Chris at the expo - he seemed to work there all day www)

@Jule How much did it cost? Actually I used like ¥8000 for one day 😂
The food especially the bentos are very expensive that I’m starting to feel bankrupt 😂

I went to the Philippines expo 2 straight days in Ueno Park and my legs are freaking tired now 😂! Definitely I’ll get leg muscle pain tomorrow…
They had a Little Princess competition and the participants were cute ☺️!

@Chris The coconut milk dessert was like ¥400 I think - All in all we spent around ¥1700 for two people!
I can totally understand that you spent that much though, everything looked so delicious! I kind of regret not having tried more but I was so full towards the end www

Btw, i heard that "Halo Halo" means "Mix Mix" in english, Indonesia also has that kind of shaved ice, and if translated into English it would be " Mixed Ice" that makes sense I really familiar with "Halo Halo"~

@Bagus Yeah, if translated directly it’s “Mix Mix” which sounds funny lol
I tried it also but they used Ube paste instead of ube ice cream which is kinda different than a usual halo halo.
I wished they had the ice cream cuz it was bloody hot 🥵 at that time 😂.

To answer to your question, yes we do have dairy free ice cream. You can buy them at big boxes sell at super markets in the capital city; Manila.

I am soo sorry @Chris! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I meant the Philippines. I have two friends named Chris, one was from University and the other was someone I at work, both from Vietnam. Sorry about it again.

Oh wow! In Sri Lanka most of the ice creams are made out of dairy. Not many dairy-less ice-creams though 😅

One of my friends at my uni. gave me omiyage from Kyoto!! Yatsuhashi in Kyoto reminds me of my trip when I was junior high. I tried Mango flavor for the first time and this is the best I tasted so far😆👍! Has anyone tried yatsuhashi before?

@Tam It’s a Yatsuhashi. A triangular shaped mochi with a filling in it. One of the iconic souvenirs you must buy when going to to Kyoto.

@Chris Whenever I go back to my hometown from Kyoto, I bought yatsuhashi as a omiyage.That pic bring back my memory when in uni.
Mango flavor wasn't released back then tho lol.

Hey everyone!! I was kinda busy doing some job hunting last June so it’s been a while posting in my AMA 😂. I went to Shin Okubo for the first time in my 9 years in Japan to try Korean style fried chicken with my family🍗! We are at Nene Chicken and it was super awesome 🤩 !! Have you guys been here?

新大久保 is definitely one of my favorite areas to get food!! I mean just look at these dishes, I ascended to heaven eating these

I have to agree that Shin Okubo is an amazing place to get food! I’ve really enjoyed the corn dogs they serve there!

@Jule 新大久保 is a good paradise for food lovers indeed. But most of the food there are kinda pricey right?
Any recommendations to try when I go there next time?

One thing I remember from last time was that it was super crowded 😅

It can definitely get more pricey since it's a tourist area as well - with all of the Kpop merch and everything! But my favourite place there is not so expensive in my opinion! @Chris
It's called 韓国家庭料理 民俗村 and it's really close to the station!!

We have this dish called “Sopas” and it’s a macaroni soup which uses evaporated milk. It’s very creamy as well. The one I ate was rose Tteokbokki but I wasn’t sure if it includes actual rose 😂

@Chris do you usually bake a macaroni this way as well? In Sri Lanka, Macaroni looks like this before we bake it.

@Emma We kinda boil it together with the soup so texture likewise is soft when cooked.
@Rashi This is one of my mother’s home recipes so I will bring some if I can someday!! Do macaroni dishes exist in India as well?

@Chris not traditionally but we make macaroni in an Indian way lol.

We were talking about Vegetarian food yesterday and I thought I should share this with you guys. So Sri Lankans make curry out of soy beans which is a common alternative to meat.

Yesterday, I went to Nishiarai in Adachi ward to see the fireworks festival 🎆 for the first time in my 9 years in Japan!! It was so incredible that I got goosebumps for the whole show👍👍! I was packed with people so we had a hard time finding our space during the day😅.

After all fireworks festivals are over, it's hard. It takes a long time to get on the train.

@Hayato san I can relate to that😂. After the festival, it was tough to get home from Kita-Senju station after all 😂. Luckily, I didn’t use that and I went home from another station.

@Emma You should try going there at least once wearing Yukata. it will be a great experience for you 😄! There will be a fireworks festival close to my house this Saturday. Please go if you have time 😊.

@Yasu san You can tell the nostalgia of the old bridge in the past! It does remind me that yesterday was the Sumida river fireworks festival. I couldn’t go cuz I had work tho😭😭

@Emma You can go to Arakawa river to enjoy the Koto fireworks festival which will be on the 11th!! You have to buy tickets since it’s only for the first 10000 people who booked it🤔

My summer vacation just started and I went for a family trip in Izu, Shizuoka!! It’s been a while to swim at a beautiful beach. Also the hotel we stayed had a nice view of the sea 🌊👍👍👍! What are you plans for this summer?

@Emma It was not a big deal so don’t worry that much. The thing that happened was my eyeglasses were being washed away by an enormous wave when I was at a the beach lol😂. I should have taken my glasses off before I get into the water.
